I agree, between the two marks is usually one quart. So, anything between the two marks is "golden" and you're safe. I'm just saying that 5.5 qts. brings you to the top mark (full), so measure that last .5 qts. real good.

And yes... we know it's quarts. We're going by whatever qts. on the Mobil 1 bottle says. in my case, it's a 5 quart jug, so I just poured it all in. We're living in AMERICA ! We don't use that metric stuff. The only time we use liter is for 2 liter soda bottles... and we sure won't be using any "imperical" measurements either.

As reference, on my '95 Civic and '92 Integra, I've always followed the owners manual units and it's always brought it very close to the top mark, and the Civic is running 260K right now somewhere in South Africa, while my Integra is still going strong at 225K, so that top hash is okay too.

Default Go to for specifications

Go to www.new-cars.com
And look up specifications of a 2002 LS-430
It clearly states 6.3qts without oil filter the same for all 3UZ-FE engines on the Lexus LS-430
