Kodibad's custom order LS mystery
I have a 01 non ul and it seems to have everything a ul has except the back seat stereo controls and back seat gismos.
My air suspesnion seems to be stuck on the high setting, about 4 fingers space between tire and wheel well, no problems over bumps or pot holes just won't go any lower. I am not too worried because the ride is very smooth but i wish it would go lower on the norm setting

kodibad - Do you know if it was a US market car? The configuration you describe is quite unusual.
If you could post the 2nd line up from the bottom on the VIN placard on the rear part of the driver's door frame, it might give an indication. The line should start with "C/TR:"

kodibad - Thanks. Your chassis codes indicate a US model. Very interesting that it has air (only on the UL package) but not the rear seat stuff (which wa on all US cars with UL).

strange huh, maybe its a ul with rear seat delete, it does seem to have a lot of the other goodies including
radar cruise,nav,ml audio,leather every where,lam glass,head lite washers,suede head liner,auto door closers and the air suspension.maybe just custom ordered.car is new to me

I have never heard of a custom-ordered LS430, but that doesn't mean that it is impossible.
Maybe the CEO of a very large Lexus dealership? :-) :-)
This idea also seems quite unlikely, but do you think that the rear seat stuff was replaced by non-UL stuff at some time in the past? Does the Climate screen show the rear seat Air Conditioning system controls?

Custom ordered that way is not possible by anyone unless you are Akio Toyoda, it doesn't make sense anyway, who want to spend more money and time to custom ordered a car with less luxury features?
kodibad, I got a question, do your car have all these buttons on the center console? Most specifically that rear seats retract button, I bet you have it, then it would mean the car came with the UL rear seat originally.

Its exactly like that picture without the rear seat button. The mystery continues. I did take out the back seat to replace the subwoofer and there was only 2 electrical connections for the seat cushion, no ice box

That sure is a fun mystery!
I know some Hawaii's market UL and ML that doesn't have NAV, that make sense. But an air suspension car without the reclining rear seats........that sure is a 1st!

We'll I called my local Lexus dealer today and gave them the vin. They gave me a vehicle inquiry report and apparently the car started out a base model with $ 12265.00 in extras including the air suspension. Why they didn't order the ul is beyond me. Bit for the price I paid, I sure like all the extras

I agree with BNR34 - it is unique as far as I can tell.
kodibad - Did the dealer give you the detailed breakout of the options? It would be fantastic if you had the option codes (two-letter codes) for each of the included options along with their pricing.
