Default Low rumble at 70mph

Hey I have an 01 ul with BF Goodrich tires. Factory recommended size, but not correct speed rating. I get a low but distinct rumble noise with a slight vibration at 70mph and higher. Perfectly quite and smooth up to 65mph. Brakes are quiet and smooth, don't hear any noise from wheel assemblies. Does this sound like tire noise?? Has anyone else experienced this?

If they are new tires, they may not have been balanced properly. You shouldn't have any rumble or vibration at any speed. If they are not new, you may have thrown a balancing weight off.

Exactly my thought!
Go back to that store and gently ask them to check on the balance again. Speed Rating and branding do matter with road noise, but there should not be any vibration issue.

Unless the your old tires worn out with incorrect alignment and come out harmonic, and now the new tires needs time for the "bad brake in". Yeah, I would recommend get alignment and front-end check out also when people getting new tires.

Good luck

You could also check the torque on the lug nuts.
