Tire Pressure Warning System
I need a little help understanding how to reset the Tire Pressure Warning System on my '05 LS 430. I had a flat repaired I am trying to reset it.
The manual says that the system must be "initiatalized" and dirven for an hour or more at speeds between 19 and 62 mph to reset it. It also says that if you make a mistake in in the middle of the initalizaton process, the whole operation must be re-accomplished again from the beginning.
Does the hour of driving time mean an uninterupted hour of diriving or does it mean a cummulative time of 1 hour. Also, does the system tell you if the reset process was successful.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Hopefully, when the flat was repaired, damage was not done to the radio sensor located in the valve stem assembly.
The tire needs to be removed and installed in a special way.
If it doesn't reset itself, according to instructions provided in the owners manual, a scheduled service at Lexus may be needed to test the sensors.

my system 04 LS430 Ultra does not have a Valve Stem system..I think it calculates tire rotation...My warning light came on the day AFTER I added air to my left front tire...the reset button removed the warning light right after it was pressed..(a few times)...
BTW, I have aftermarket wheels/tires 19's on my car.

Our 06 LS 430 also does not have the valve stem tire pressure sensor. After replacing a front right tire with the spare that darned tire pressure light came on and I could not find the switch to turn it off. The dealer did it in 2 seconds. Sure hope Lexus fixes that problem with the new models.

My '04 has had problems with this in the past. The manual tells you how to reset it. There is a button to press way under the dash in front of where your left knee would be positioned while driving. You REALLY have to reach WAY under.
Frankly, I think this whole tire pressure thing is a PITA. They should (I am sure they CAN) design a system that just lets you SEE the tire pressure by numbers. You can see if one tire is 24 pounds and the rest are at 33 pounds.
By the way, the dealer told me, and it turned out to be true and not just dealer bullschteig, that you should put about 2-3 pounds more than the recommended 32 pounds in the tires. My warning light kept coming on and this solved the problem. Apparently the sensor kicks in right at 32. (At least on my 2004 LS)

M500 -You asked "Did you installed the TPMS in your Aftermarket 19"? How? or how did you remove the warning if not? Thanks."
My wheels are 17inch so I replaced my flat with a Dunlop 17inch. (Very Expensive tire) Could not find that darned tire pressure switch so I had the dealer turn the warning off.
Please note: the sidewalls of those tires are weak, so do not hit a curb with any sharp pipes sticking out. Like I did. Was at night and could not see the pipe.
There were no sensors in the valve stem of my 2006 LS 430

M500 -
There is NO gadget in my tires or valve system at all... I think the way the TPMS works is it calculates the rotation of each tire and if one of the tire/s differ from the others, the sensor would then tell you to check the air pressure.
