Smile Need help with 02/03 colors

Hello fellow LS folks,
I am in the process of looking for an 02 or 03 LS430. I just sold my 97 LS400 after six years of sastified ownership. Thought I'd get more of this great car. From reading the forum, I've heard owners talk about suspension problems, then on the other hand, I've heard a lot of positive feedback on the models I'm looking for. I'm going to take the leap anyway. Every car has some imperfections. Anyway, my wife is going along with me on my 430 search, but she doesn't want a dark color. She wants a light colored car. Not white, not silver, not gold, not light green; and the one I have seen that may work for us is called parchment. I saw another color that seemed between silver and a light grey. It was raining that day, and it may have been my eyes playing tricks on me.

If anyone out there has a handle on 02 and 03 colors that I might need to know about, please get back with me. Also, if there is anything I need to know as I pursue my purchase, please educate me. Thanks.

I think that was most likely Parchment or Silver that you saw -- probably Parchment. Both of them look a bit different from time to time depending upon the lighting conditions. Specifically, I'd guess that you saw Parchment, or the color that took its place, Moonlight Pearl. Parchment varies a lot depending upon lighting, and can look light grey, silver, or even a bit champagne (under flourescent lights) -- I'm not too sure about Moonlight Pearl, other than it's pretty close to Parchment in most natural light conditions.. The early Silver had a little bit of 'titanium' look to it and wasn't nearly as bright silver as the later (2004-up?) Silver, and might have been what you saw.
