Anyone feel the same way? I thought Siruis Sat Radio show blow way regular FM with comparable CD quality sound but its not. It just like FM without commercials. I swear they sounded so good in Circuity city or Best buys. Also the reception sucks. I get no reception when I park in my garage or park inside mall parking builders. Am I expecting to much out of it? I find myself listening to my CD more then Sirius.

I have the OEM Sirius kit in my 05 Ultra. The reception is great (I purchased the Sirius Ultra-Low Profile "Dot" antenna which the dealership placed inside the center brake light to avoid the ugly trunk mount) but the sound quality is poor, at best. This is a Sirius issue (no pun intended) and it is caused by the compression they use to squeeze 120+ channels into the limited bandwidth. My biggest gripe is how the Nav display limits the text (Artist, Song Title, Stock Quotes, Scores, etc.) to 10 characters. I called Lexus this morning to see if a fix is in the works and was told that someone would call me back in 48 hours. I'll post any info I receive.

Satellite radio is line of sight. You will not get reception, typically, in a parking garage, etc. You heard Sirius in Best Buy because they have a satellite antenna on the exterior of the building and they broadcast the signal from the satellite antenna to an FM station. That is also how it works if you buy one of the Sirius units and use it in your car that does not already have a satellite capable receiver.
XM will not be noticably different since all satellite radio is line of sight.
