Cadillac DTS vs Lexus LS430
His final result is that it's a tie.
This post isn't made to start any so called "flaming" between forums so lets not go there please. Just thought you guys would like to read what the GM folks feel about the 05 LS.
I also see CL member "magneto112" is on both fourms.

Im not starting anything here but theres no way id buy that cadillac its soo ugly. Everyone know what car is better there is no comparison. Lets not forget when the LS came out it was tested for weeks by amci against bentleys, RR, MB s600, BMW 7, infiniti Q, jag and some others the LS won with ease.

In a contest ending in a tie only the loser agrees that it was. Cadillac is at a crossroad, it had such wild success with the CTS due to both design and price, however the DTS has to appeal to an older (conservative) richer crowd. How do you progress with style and retain your old cash cow????? I don't think the DTS is a good answer. Its to edgey for the older deville people and to granpas' car for the younger folk (not to mention to pricey)

I must admit that I am a loyal Cadillac fan, however Cadillac misstepped with this mild refreshening of the Deville. It looks like they took the front of the STS and the back of some 1989 Chrysler sedan and put it on the 2005 Deville. The Lexus wins. I can't wait till 2008 when the DTS gets completely redesigned and turned to RWD. It supposed to be on the level of the LS, 7 series, S, and XJ cars and will be the new flagship. Maybe Caddy will win then!

I am a huge fan of Caddies new styling, the CTS,XLR,Escalde, and STS are breathtaking, very in your face opposition to the smooth ultra-rounding cars everyone else is making, but the fusion thattheyare trying with that DTS just doesn't work (neither does that little suv they have)

I admire Cadillac for the comeback they have made, but come on guys ...seriously the only ones there who voted for the Cadillac did so because they are truly biased towards Cadillac.Look at the specs and the LS hands down kicks the DTS's ***. The LS doesn't share the interior with anything else either like the Cadillac The only thing I admire about Cadillac more than Lexus is that they have their V class performance vehicles.Wake up LEXUS!!!!!!GT class NOW!!!!!

Heres the sharing I'm talking about, with minor differences with the wood
Cadillac DTS
heres the Buick Lucerne
They're pretty nice but I don't see the LS interior on any Toyota and I personally think the Avalon is a better match for the DTS(and it's still better ).

I've had a 95 STS before, and no way you can compare that to a Lexus, I believe the new DTS is still somewhat based on that old platform with the NorthStar, compare to the GS400 its almost night and day, I'm sorry to say this, but an American car will always be an American car, they'll never be able to do things in manners that others do.
