I'm losing contact. The voice stream breaks up. I've tried moving the phone about the car. Maybe the GSM network is incomlete. It seems worse thru the Cook county forest preserves. It reminds me of the situation 6-7 years ago.

Steve,
Does it break up if you do not use the headset? I know there is a problem with the bluetooth and the early versions of this phone. This problem should be a bit better if you can find someone to flash the phone.
If you do find somewhere to get it flashed, please let me know.

Update
I was advised today by S-E to switch to GSM exclusively And Cingular sent an update. I don't use a headset but do use thru my a/n system in the car -Bluetooth connection. I don't understand the term "flash".

Steve,
Using the Bluetooth through the vehicle may exhibit the same problems seen using a Bluetooth headset.
A 'flash' is a bios or operating system type update to the phone. With a flash they can add (or take away!) functionality to the phone. They also can fix problems such as battery level not displaying correctly, bluetooth that has static in the connection when used, etc....
Make more sense?

Flash
Joe
I received a flash today that will allow the phone to seek the strongest signal. Haven't tested it yet. I'll keep you informed. Thanks --- you've been a big help.
