Default SmartAccess concerns

I had a few questions about how SmartAccess works and if anyone knows the answers.

What happens if there is a malfunction with the remote or the remote battery goes dead (if it has one)? How would you get in or start the car? I don't know if they give you real keys also, but I did not see a place in the door to put a key.

Also what would happen if you forget to turn the engine off before leaving? Would the remote sensor turn the engine off once you were far enogh away? This may seem silly, but I wonder since you don't have to physically remove the key, you may be distracted at some point and just walk away forgetting to turn the motor off.

If anyone has SmartAcess and would like to let me know how they like or don't lke it, I would appreciate it.

hi,

If the battery is dead there is a "traditional" key build into the smartkey - can be used for drivers door, trunk and ignition.

If you forget to turn off the engine an alarm sounds - same goes if if you place the smartkey in the car or trunk and try to lock

Yes I am so pleased with it - a bit odd at first - but you get used for it really quickly

Klaus
