I did some research prior to the purchase and some struct will have too high pressure that it bend hood. This one is like tailor made. Pressure is just right.

Just ordered mine. Cannot wait to have a hood that does not slam me in the head randomly while I'm working on the car!
I can finally get rid of that furring strip I use as a hood prop!!
I ordered . The price for me was $27.88 after using my Discover card cash back points!
Really cannot beat that.

I got them in this past weekend. Amazon shipping was very fast. They work PERFECT. No hood bending and after you use a wrench to put the new ball mounts on, they snap right in.
It's great having a hood that doesn't hit you in the face.

that is the very first part I replace when I buy a used car! - that way I can work on the car and fix the other problems!

We got a set of struts that had suitable length and winged the force rating. We then made adapters which allowed the new struts to be attached to original points. Cost was one third of what the originals cost here.
With 500 Newtons each strut the bonnet stays now up with ease - which is nice.

Hood strut blew
So today when I was checking my brake fluid and noticed this liquid spraying from the hood strut. Shortly after the hood began to go down. I replaced the struts soon after I bought the car because the original ones were also blown out (That was about two years ago). I am wondering what is the part number for the OEM ones since the aftermarket ones did not last long at all?
Thanks

The price you pay for them at the dealer you can buy a many year supply of the cheap ones. Not all parts need to be from the dealer to be good. If its an NOS meaning New Old Stock they are good, but sitting on the shelf for years for some parts is not a good thing and they may fail fast. If the parts at the dealer are brand new, then you could be getting the same old made in china junk you can get anyother place. Oh and china could rival anyone in making good stuff, they choose not to do so, and treat the workers bad, so they are then making junk.
