Lowered Front Some More

How much lower did it become by moving the snap ring?
Does it change the ride quality?
I can't find that other thread I was looking for...I have some Q's on removing the struts.
1. Up front, did you have to remove the steeriing knuckle to remove the strut assembly?
2. In back, did you have to disconnect the driveshafts & brake calipers?
I probably won't get to installing my springs until Nov sometime and I want to have an idea what I'm in for. My past cars didn't have this multi-link set-up so it is new to me.
Thanks.
