Default front seats and leather

My '91 LS is a great car! I've owned it for a few months now and have no regrets especially considering that I spent $5k for it. I looked at buying a new car, but dropping $15k into a car that would be worth $10k next year just wasn't appealing to me. It looks fantastic, runs like a champ, and rides well. The only major issue at all is the leather. My armrest is cracked, the shifter is bad, and the front seats have seat covers because they are toasted! I notice that this is a common problem amoung aging LS's. What choices do I really have? I look at used seats, but most of them are on the verge of cracking. I hear that you can buy a leather kit and have it installed, but those don't always turn out the best. Has anyone looked at putting seats from a second gen. LS into a first? I haven't even tried to match up the leather or anything. I don't have seat memory, so that shouldn't be an issue. I'd just like to know how close they would come to bolting up and matching the leather that came in my '91. Any suggestions or descriptions of what others have done to better their leather would be nice.

I have a leather kit and it looks better then stock seats of most luxo cars from dealers. Installed you are looking at about $800.

www.autoaccessoriesrusfl.com

$600 for the kit and another $200 for new carpet, kit installation and other plastic parts color matching. Local shop did the work and I am real happy with it.

Thx Methodical
