VVT-I I want TOTAL production numbers
Guys;
What I am looking for is the TOTAL production numbers for the Model Year(MY) 03 LS 430 broken down by exterior and interior color combinations. Has anyone ever seen these figures published anywhere?
Further, TOTAL numbers for MY 03 LS 430 by option package ie, NAV/ML,UL,etc.
Any info would be appreciated.

Dealerships get a production report every 2 months for their local area only. Then they pretty much throw them away. I do not know of any other public records available for consumers to review. Is there a reason why you are looking for this information and perhaps I can answer your question or are you just curious?

I, also, am curious how many LS430 cars were sold in the USA by model year. What I REALLY want to know is how do sales today, with prices in the mid to high 50's compare to sales of the early LS400 cars around 40K?

Longo Lexus-Reason for info
Longo;
The reason I want this information is two fold. First, out of curiosity and secondly, upon selling the car I would like to tell prospective buyers that 11,434 were built in 03, of that XXX number were in my color/option combination.
The car I own is an 03 LS 430 UL with Black Cherry Pearl and Bordeaux Aniline Leather.
Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Wow, your car is a rarity. Nice combo, by the way. I loooove the rear seat massage and the front a/c seats. Unfortunately, I do not know of any resource where I could gather that information. You'd have to get in contact with someone from the factory who's on a national level.

Longo Lexus and Daryll40
Longo Lexus;
Thanks for the response. I will start with Lexus CS and go from there. If I can find any info I will post it. Also, LS 430 sales seem weak for 03. Do you know why? Just curious.
Ron
Daryll40;
There is another thread on this forum where a member did a price comparison between the 90 and 03 LS and adjusted for inflation today's price is almost the same as it was in1990.

It's because the sales numbers aren't final. The numbers I posted is only through July of this year. And even then it's probably a lower number because they wanted to make the LS430 a more desired niche car that is top top top of the line. Not mass marketed like the ES or IS. Business 101 is law of supply and demand. Which is fine by me, it just increases the market value of all Lexus cars and the LS definately gives off a nice "halo" effect.

Ron36330,
For what it's worth, I am the one who did that other post...showing that the inflation adjusted price of the 2003 LS is the same or less than the original 1990 LS.

Sorry old man! I noticed that AFTER I had posted that response.
However that was excellent work on the cost analysis. I wonder if the S class would have produced the same results?
We in CL should apppoint you as our Reasearch Analyst.
Thanks again for the fine work.

The "S" Class would also be about the same. Here is another interesting analysis, just for perspective. In November 1983, I purchased my first luxury car, the new Mercedes 190. It as a piece of crap. That being said, the 300D, the midsized "meat and potatoes" car of the Mercedes line, stickered for about $32,000 with the most common options...auto tranny, good radio, sunroof, alloy wheels, leather and power windows and door locks.
Today's Mercedes E320, without al- wheel-drive, stickers for about $52,000. Inflation adjusted, this is actually less than the 1983 model which would equate to about $57,000 ($32,000 adjusted) today.
Or in 1972, my father purchased HIS first luxury car, the Lincoln Continental (which at that time was the large sedan, equivalent to today's Lincoln Town Car). Sticker was $7800 which would be about $33,000 today....less than a new Town Car costs, even with heavy discounting.
Or in 1977 he bot the new downsized Sedan DeVille. Sticker $10800. Today that would be adjusted to $32,800...again about 3-5K less than a base DeVille with heavy discounting.
Again, I don't know what this analysis is worth, other than it keeps things in perspective.
