OMG! That is one sturdy looking bar! Non-adjustable, that thing must fit just right. I'm glad to hear that it really improved the cars handling. I might be getting mine real soon.
Is the Addco rear sway bars in production yet? Keep moding!

Anyone cut stock springs???
I was contemplating a small drop with tokico's. Please don't get too scientific, just looking for someone who has actually done it.
I am hoping for: cut stock springs+firm tokico's=decent ride & nice look.
The car is a 94 Ls400.

cut springs= stupid idea
reasons:
1-no more progressive spring rate, it will bounce like a ghetto civic over any kind of rough road.
2-safety hazard
3-lose temper in the part of the spring that you cut.
honestly, springs arent overly expensive, <$200 most of the time and L-tunedparts had springs for <150.

How much drop do you have in mind?
While you can hack the springs and still getaway with some decent ride qualities, anything more than 1-1.5 coil is marginal. With Tanable offering springs, that would be the preferred way to go.
My suggestion...don't.

Here is the best reason why not to cut the springs.
Beside it is not a Honda ( which i also own but with tein coilovers)
1. it will drive like crap it bounces all over the road and bottoms out all the time.
2. it will bottom out from the reduced spring rate hard enough to bend the frame of the car as an LS is a very heavy car.
3. It can hit the right bump and then set off the airbags which can bend your dash as well as needing new seatbelts and bags to the tune of $5000 on a new LS that is equipped.
4. It will cause the shocks to blow out.
5. The slightest bump on a corner will cause you to lose control from the wheel not being kept on the ground.
6. It will cause excessive wear on the rest of the suspension components to end up costing a few grand to get it back into spec.
All of the above have been done by a friend of mine with an LS who i ridicule all the time for doing it. He is going to buy my JIC's from me as he has now learned a very expensive lesson and has a dash with more caution/warning lights than a Christmas tree.

I have to concur as the cut springs would seriously jeopardize your safety and performance. You should be able to find a decent set of used springs off this board since so many folks choose lowering springs before upgrading to coil overs.
