Hi,

I found different part numbers for 97 and 98 front springs.

1998 4813150100
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-1997.html

probably just a minor difference in spring rate to cope with the weight changes from the revision in '98.

will they interchange? yes.
will the difference change the ride? possibly, unknown.

I think the h&r's are only like 350$ or less. That's not alot IMO and its a reputable brand with a decent history.

heated springs are a beyond ghetto mod that compromises ride and safety. buy some lowering springs please.....

this will only be funny for another 10 minutes lol.

Heated... From a simple metallurgy standpoint, that will ruin the spring temper and potentially cause the coil to shear/crack under load. If the spring cracks while driving and you lose control, the resulting aftermath will not be good. There is very little control as far as precise lowering that way. Don't do it.

Plenty of proper lowering springs available. By the time you replace the struts and springs, the least expensive Megans are about the same price. Go that way and be assured your car is lowered right.

If you love your car, you would NOT heat the springs. It is always worth it to save up for quality parts than to settle for something less. Doesn't your car deserve the best?

Dont do it, you dont even have to buy lowering springs brand new. Look for used ones and have peace of mind.

Those H&R's are about the best that are still readily available. If your current shocks have some miles on them, when doing this swap, it is suggested to have fresh shocks put in. If you want better handling, that leaves you Bistein at $120 each or the KYB GR2's at a bit less. Factor in $200 to install and $75 alignment. See, you can buy Megans.

find some tanabe df210 off of ebay or a classified on here.
$250 MAXIMUM. will lower your car a good bit and still feels decent.
I got mine off here for 150.
a great investment. and the previous owner asked to buy them back they are so good.
