Default Hestitation @ 42 mph

Hey Gang,

Since I brought my LS400. I always have this problem. The car runs great, but it always hestitate at around 42 mph. The car want to accelerate and yet wants to deccelerate. I hate that problem. Anyway, I had my engine taken out and change the torque converter. The problem is gone. The problem was the torque converter. I am not sure why.

If you have similar problem, please contact me.

At times, but not too often my car at an average speed want to stall when I accelerate. It has done it at different speeds, but not at low speeds.

This problem been bugging me for years. I tried to fix the TPS, TB, Speed sensor and so on. Never got the proper diagnosis for the problem. Since my engine was out, so i change to a 2800 rpm stall speed torque converter. The problem solved. Very happy. Highly recommended if you have this problem. If you are interested in changing your TC, please PM me.

Well from reading other posts I was under the impression that it might have been dirty fuel injectors so I put about 2 tanks of valvoline and a octance booster in it over the past few weeks and it still did not correct the problem. I was kind of dissapointed but I would like to know how much it costs (labor-wise) to change the torque converter. Thanks for your time!

I heard you have to open up the whole engine because the TC is deep inside, I'm just saying from what I heard.

You dont have to take the whole engine out just for TC change. Tranny comes out. Labor is about $250-330 for the whole process.
