1999 LS400 Ending warranty
I have 1 1999 LS400 with 41,211 miles that will end the 4 year warranty in 30 days. Altthough I don't know of any problems is there any thing that I should look out for and ask the dealer to check before the warrantly ends?

With your low miles, the engine has barely been broken in yet So you have many long trouble-free years of use of your LS ahead if properly maintained, of course....

My '99 warranty expired in February. The telescopic steering system had been showing signs of being sluggish. I had it checked when I would bring it in for oil changes and they would grease it. It went out in April. One service consultant said I was out of luck, but I sent the word out on this forum, and it was suggested that I call the corporate Lexus number. Suffice to say, the telescopic steering system was replaced under warranty, and I am very satisfied in the way Lexus treated me at corporate and at the local dealership. They've got a lifetime customer.
Also, if you're having any problems with "miles since refuel" have them check it and get it on paper (mine will zero-out without refueling about every other month). There was a technical service bulletin out on the fix, but Lexus says the fix is not permanant, therefore, they stopped doing it. If an actual solution comes up they will contact me.

Well I asked the same questions to this forum when my 98 was about to run out of warrenty. Fortunatly / unfortunatly our cars are so darn good nothing really breaks this early on. I tried to get things fixed or replaced before warrenty ran out but nothing was needed.
One thing if you have the wood steering wheel and shifter look real good and see if there are ANY hairline cracks in the clear coat. If there are Lexus WILL replace it.
Good Luck
