My climate control LCD was replaced as part of the purchase deal, and the tach needle is half dead, which according to the previous owner occured about four years ago and has not changed since. Otherwise, all is well.

speedo needle died
I had the speedo needles die in my 1993 LS400 @ about 130k. Sewell Lexus in Dallas,TX wanted about $1200 to replace the entire assembly. I had Davenport Motor co replace the assembly and I believe it was somewhere between $6-800 dollars for the part & labor. Also for anyone in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex I highly reccomend Davenport motor co. They are an Independant Lexus shop... All their mechanics are Lexus certified... they have really nice facilites..they do good work and they are always cheaper that the dealer when it comes to parts and labor. Apparently they are making a dent in the local dealerships profits. Park Place Lexus here in Dallas made an offer to buy them out.

1991 Lexus with 220,000 miles. The AC LCD is completely dead, still works fine to regulate temp, all bulbs still light up. The speedo needle is dim at the very end, about 1/4" only, all other needles are fine.

91 LS400 166,500 miles.... no display problems, nor any speedo/tach needle light problems. Perhaps it's because it's been garaged all it's life? So I've been lucky?
