Default 500k+ Mile LS400

I was wondering if any of you read the article in this months issue of the Lexus Magazine regarding the gentleman and his 1989 LS with over 500k miles on it? That to me is truly amazing! I know that not all Toyota products will last that long, but you talk about getting a superb return on your vehicle investment! It would take a lifetime for me to put that kind of mileage on a car.

Absolutely amazing. I read the article as well. 555,000 miles and it still looks good. The paint was glossy and the body looked pretty straight. Change the oil and it's going to run forever.

I also read that article, the old man bought a 1990 LS in late 1989 when the LS was first available in the US. The car looks absolutely amazing by the outside. The paint looked like if it was only a few weeks old. That car is one in a million to last that long and still drive and look so good. Maybe if we ask the old man what he did to preverve his LS and follow his footsteps we might one day surpass him. :]

Yeah I read this article too. It makes you feel good about having a Lexus! Then they put in the fine print "milage performance is not typical of all Lexus vehicles." The guys says in the article that he did regular 140 mile trips for about 10 years, so most of those miles are highway miles. It's cool Lexus mag found that guy and did a story on him.

Simple maintenance will make a car last longer than expected.

Wow...thanks for the scan, Earl!
Reading this article almost brought tears to my eyes. A seemingly insipid but truly moving article.
This gentleman found the soul of Lexus.
