Default Removing center counsel

Does anyone know how to remove the center counsel on a 91 LS400? I have tried to remove it but could not find all the screws/bolts that hold it in place. I got as far as removing the shift lever trim and the cell phone. Could not find any other screws/bolts. Any help is appreciated.

Do those instructions work on a '95 LS ? I don't see any release bar behind the gear shift. I would like to take out the center console and re-spray it.

johnw.

Here is a diagram for the 92 LS. The one Billy posted is probably for a 95-00 LS of which Billy has had many.

The idea is largely the same as for the 95-00 LS. Once you remove the wood trim panel (pry it out gently with an appropriate tool) and remove the plastic console box under the armrest, everything else should be pretty obvious. To remove the plastic box under the armrest, remove the liner at the bottom of the bottom of the box to expose the screws you need to remove. There may also be a screw or two at the vents you see with the armrest raised. After the screws are removed gently pry out the box with a trim removal tool (or screwdriver or putty knife - I tape to blade so as not to do damage). You should then be able to see all the bolts that hold it in place.

After you remove the bolts, you might have to pull the console frame to the rear so that it "unplugs" from the center stack - not sure though ... I've disassembled the console on both my 00 LS and the 90 LS I used to have.

Thanks to both. I am starting to redo the stereo and need to get wires under it. Hoping to remove it maybe to make it easier.

Will just have to play with it and look for all the screws. Was a little lost on shifter plate.

I doubt if you will have to remove more than the wood console panel, ashtray and center vents above the radio to do that - five minutes if you've done it before ... 10 minutes if you haven't.
