Question First Gen LS400 Seat Comfort

Has anyone discovered a way to modify first gen LS400 seats to make them more comfortable? I have a low mileage car, so I know the cushion isn't worn out, but the darn seats are too hard. I've tried to place padding between the springs and cushion, but it doesn't help much.

I think the only way to make the seats more comfortable is to remove the S-shaped springs (that the cushion rests on), and install thick foam. I think that's the way most cars are done these days.

Any other ideas?

The condition of the leather is one of the top things to consider.

Even if the leather is soft in some areas it still is quite afew years old. Replacing it from a company like katzkin will make a big difference.

My first gen Lex seats are totally comfortable already, I don't need or want to modify them. Maybe your seats are totally different but why would you want to spend your time and money on modifying a seat that is already very comfortable? I don't know, just my opinion.

If they really don't meet your standards then get the leather replaced like Lvangundy said.
