Default How many have had mouse problems?

And how many have figured out how they can get in? Are the drain points in the trunk area large enough? I'm surprised the designers didn't do a better job keeping rodents out. So far no problems except when I got the first one years ago it had the engine valley nest found at a starter change. Has any one had wire chewing problems on the Gen1's?

This happens to all cars. Newer cars have soy based wire coatings that will attract rodents.

Haven't had it on a personal car of mine, but did have a friend with an F-350 whose A/C compressor wiring was eaten to bits.... that was a fun repair.

The older GM stuff had special designed mouse entry points. I've seen a few posts about them in Lexus but not many LS400.

Lol on the GM comment!

But unfortunately, I don't think there is any way to fully mouse proof a car, i've seen mice run/climb up vertical brick walls like nitrous powered spiders. The agility of those little buggers astounds me sometimes

yeah my LS sometimes is parked for long periods, and one day i found debris and feces under the car right in the middle. since the car is pretty much sitting on the ground due to my air suspension, i suppose a rodent made a nest in the heatshield area above the driveshaft. left a trap out and never caught the bugger. drove the car and it never returned.

best way to mitigate such a nuisance is to set out traps, keep the yard clean, get a cat/dog, and drive the car often!

Other than a bad wire grommet in the firewall, the only other point of entry I can think of in an ls would be in the trunk where the moon roof drains would be. Are there air outlets too? Hmmm what about the AC drain?

When I first read this I thought: "When did the LS400 add a mouse to their nav system?? Lol. I had the 94 LS for 10 years and never once had a creature issue.
