Dash,tail,headlights wont turn off
All of a sudden when i pull my keys out my dash, tail, and headlights all stay on. i do have a remote starter, not sure if thats relevant or not. It is a 97. Any ideas on whats causing this? The dash isn't saying that a door is open.

yep, could still be an intermittent problem. the car's wiring is very sensitive esp to grounds. the lights are a grounding switched system and any accidental grounding causes abnormal issues. aftermarket alarms tend to have ground triggers for auxiliary equipment like dome lights and door locks.
after removing the key, the ls400's lights normally automatically turn off when the driver door is opened no matter what position the light switch is on. this is ground triggered to prevent accidental draining of the battery.

That's interesting
Really? That's not how my '99 works; once you turn off the ignition, the headlights stay on for a minute or so, then they turn off. If you happen to have any doors, or your trunk or hood open, they stay on until you close all the doors, etc., THEN they turn off after the minute delay. This is how all my newer cars also work. Perhaps you are referring only to how the interior lights work.

Well now my lights dont stay on when i reconnect the battery or turn the car off. But I tried to leave the battery connected and when i tried to go to work, she wouldnt start. Is this still potentially a remote starter wiring problem?
