Default Thanks for your support.

Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone on here for all the help they have provided over the last few years during the ownership of my first Lexus. Everything from my faulty 1995's ECU, to the steering problems, and the suspension issues, the members on this particular forum have been an invaluable resource for maintaining one of these cars.

Three days ago, i sold my old Cadillac and my 95', and traded up to a 2002 LS430, with the custom Luxury Package. I will still be on here from time to time as i can still offer information to others on what I learned on my LS400 over the last few years, but I will See you guys over on the LS430 and GX470 forums, should you ever pick one of those up in the future.

Thanks for the support

It's newer tech wise but the interior feels smaller. To me at least; based on sitting in my 98 and then a 02 back to back.

I did that a while back also, Yoshiman... but my heart, (maybe it was my spirit) longed for the LS400. It may be from the same lineage, but the 430 is not the 400. Congrats on your upgrade and enjoy all the new features.

hey if you're happier then that's all that matters... any particular reason for the switch though? if you wanted a bit extra performance the 98-00 LS is every bit as quick as the 430, but don't let me make you regret the decision

Congrats on the new car. I always loved the ls400 body style, the 430 looks too boxy. Nothing beats the original design and classic looks. Enjoy your new ride my friends and please update us on the comparison

Thanks guys!

My main reason for the change was the fact that i had too many cars for the living space. I had 5 for quite awhile, but I ended up renting my house out to make up for some of the difference from my girlfirend of 6 years and I going our separate ways in January. and I got tired of parking one of them on opposite ends of town at peoples houses who were generous enough to let me park there. The LS400 actually got egged by someone a month or so ago that didn't like where it was parked during one of the big snowstorms.

When i was 16, A friend of mines parents had a 2001 LS430 that they picked up right as the new body style came out. It was a first Lexus I experienced first hand... I didn;t have a pot to pee in at the time, and It made quite the impression on me... I always told myself that i would get one someday when things had gotten better.

Once I realized that i was going to downsize my car collection, i just happened to drive by a Lexus dealer and stopped to see what they might have in stock. They had that LS430 with the custom option package, with only 77,000 miles, and it looks like it was kept in a vacuum sealed time capsule.

I stopped to look and ended up talking with a sales man, and they said they would be able to work with my to sell off my Old Cadillac through their auction network, which they were able to find a buyer in Las Vegas, and made me an offer on the LS400 that I couldn't refuse. This new one actually costs me less than my Corolla does!

I loved my LS400, but I do have to honestly say the LS430 feels like quite the step up.

Good deal. We also have that gen Corolla and while great with MPG, the comfort is night day. I ponder selling it for a different ride, just don't know if there is a comparable trade to the desires.
