I notice white smoke comming from the middle area of the catalytic converter resonator an check engine light stayed on drove the car for 5 mins light went off car started running normal am puzzled any ideas?

well i had to get mine replaced last week. i had mine replaced at a toyota dealership. it cost me almost $1700 to get mine replace with 20% coupon. it was on a 00 ls400. you can go aftermarket which is alot cheaper if you wanna go that route.

Aftermarket should be less than $500 and that would include the remove and install labor. I'd look at that as a possibility.
