Since most "builds" these days happen on social media rather than forums, I want to follow all of you guys with dope LS'...

My '98 is stock so it's not much to look at but my name is tf_tyler. My new LS and my basic 95 that I sold not too long ago can be seen using "#tf_ls400."

before this though, i think the LS forum should compile some demographics of LS owners. i could be wrong, but i'd guess many are over 40... probably not instagraming, tweeting types. but i could be wrong, it happens every so often. anyway i'd rather view a build on here where you can give much more detailed instructions than with only some pictures

agreed i like threads more than instagram for builds, and we do have a demographic thread!
most are in their late twenties to early thirties but recently the age has been dropping as the prices drop! they are a good car for a first time driver (maybe too good).

instagram is nice for real time updates, but they are limited in answering questions and is hard to recall back when it gets buried in the feed.

I agree with Strook639 - I'm 44 & own an LS400 and an SL500 and check here & benzworld regularly, but have never had a Twitter or Instagram account, and to me FB is a big pool that is 1" deep - I try to maintain as shallow an existence there as possible.

Well I'm over 60, and I agree that this venue is much better for both short and highly detailed comments. As for the FB description, I would only add "Yes, just deep enough for people to see their own reflection!"

Jesus Christ... This is just a suggestion for users who may not want to wait for these "detailed" updates you all yearn for so badly. This forum is, for the most part, dead. Have you guys not noticed how sparse build thread updates are?

No one is trying to replace the forum and any subsequent posts, just offer a way to see MORE of your favorite LS400s. If it's not something you're interested in, move along. No one cares.

hey i have NO problem with an instagram thread (i'm 21 btw) i'm just not so sure how many names you'll get here. i'd kinda think this sort of thing is like going to watch a nascar race and asking fans who's voting for hillary

I'm not surprised by the lack of names, I half expected this with how much of a ghost town this place is these days... I'm surprised how many people have opted to chime in and share why they aren't interested.

I could give a **** how active some of you are on social media, if it's not for you then why even click on a thread with one of the major outlets titled?

Totally unnecessary IMO. But we do have a dedicated build forum which was put in place not long ago for that specific reason.

It is what it is.... Since the forum is such a ghost town I don't understand why your posting a thread when you assume no one will respond.The ppl that start build threads and post them on social media usually state that in the thread and say that they don't spend that much time on here. Anyway, good luck with your search.

That aside, there is a Facebook group for LS400 owners (Lexus Ls400) where you can find all of your favorite builds, and some other less known cars.
