Driving home from work in heavy traffic today and steped on my breaks and my car head lights went way dim and all my dash lights came on. I turned all my accessories off and limped it home thinking it was the alternator. I checked that and my battery and they are testing good. Alternator is putting our 13.66v @ idle and the batter tested fine and its from 06/14. It has not done it again but my head lights dim with lower engine rpms and with accessories on. And i noticed i used an 8th of a tank of gas when i normally use a 32nd of a tank to get home. I need help in finding why my car is doing this. Thank you -Matt

IIRC there's a wire harness in the trunk that can cause weird issue like this

Ironicly one of the problems in that link i have had since i got the car. The tail light indicator comes on every so often but i don't ever have a bulb out. I will take a look at that wire harness. Thank you.

Do check the wiring harness on the trunk hinge. This is related to similar symptoms that you've described when braking or the rear lights.
