Default 1999 LS 400 brochure

http://s1212.photobucket.com/user/St...?sort=9&page=1

i recently came across the 99 LS brochure on toyota reference

in case anyone doesn't want to make the $5 donation to download it (i think it's worth it) i uploaded them to a public album for all to see #freesoftwaremovement

in case anyone is starting to question their LS, definitely worth looking at the brochure

I like that quote that says: "There's a difference between a car you drive, and one that gets under your skin" Because that sounds like it is describing my ownership experience with my Cadillac Escalade. That thing REALLY got under my skin, especially when it lost all its oil pressure 800 miles from home in the middle of Yellowstone! ha ha!

And what is this a picture of? Do the 98+ 1UZFE's have some sort of Individual throttle bodies or something?

Wow thats a beautiful brochure. The 98-2000 LS's are my absolute favorite, mine makes me so pleased even if its just parked outside.

that's the "acoustic control induction system" (ACIS) it's a set of individual valves at the base of the intake manifold. when given the signal from the ECU, they will simultaneously open up above 4900 rpm when you're at a high throttle position.

normally they're shut which makes the intake path longer and that apparently creates better low end torque. when they open the intake path is shortened which improves high rpm horsepower. if you have the jbrady intake installed you can hear it happening. it's pretty awesome sounding... the intake note changes pitch, almost like a vtec kicking in yo type of thing

The brochures in those days were class acts. The ones in Japan for the Celsior were hard bound book productions.

If you're using Chrome you can install the "Photobucket Album Downloader" extension, it will allow you to download up to 100 pictures from public albums
