Default resistance too low on my brake fluid level sensor

My parking brake light stays on (but dimly) the culprit is my brake fluid level sensor. When the float is up the resistance at the connector terminals is around 400 ohms. When the float is down, as when it needs fluid, the resistance is almost zero ohms. If I unplug it the e brake light goes out so this is telling me that my sensor's resistance is too low when the float is up. What should the resistance be? Maybe someone with a 92 ls400 can measure theirs? Anybody know of a fix other than replacing the cap with sensor? Thanks
