Question Anyone removed the Lexus emblem....?

Today I tried to remove the "Lexus" emblem on the back of my car, but I ran into a problem, the emblem is actually built into the trunk lid! I know others have removed this. For those who have, was it set into the trunk lid as I described, or was it just attached with double-sided tape?

Both emblems on the trunk are installed that way. The "L" emblem should have 5 pegs and double-sided tape and the "Lexus" emblem should have 4-5 pegs (I think?) and double-sided tape holding them in place. Oh yeah...if you're planning to leave the trunk without the emblems on...there's going to be holes showing for where the pegs fit into.

At least on my '95, the front emblem is held by one little screw with a snap fit. Pretty easy to remove. If the rears will leave holes, I will leave them there or get black pearl emblems, but then again it's just my opinion.

I took it off and shaved the holes. Looks a lot better and symetrical.

Take your car to any good body shop and they will remove the holes for you (shave). Should not be much at all.

shaved the holes? That sounds wierd, but you know what you're takin about retro! What exactly does that process entail? Do you remember how much it cost ya? I want to do this for the exact reasons, because it would look better being symmetrical.
