Default First drive and couple brakes squeal

But after that all good. Noticed this over the last few days I have owned the car. Is this normal and just cleaning out brake rust gathered overnight?

This depends on the pads your using. Mines does it with the Wagner pads until they get warmed up. It's annoying so I will not be using them on the next change.

Bought the car earlier this week. So, this is not common behavior of OEM pads, right?

No, not normal. Does yours squeal only when backing up or going forward?

Reverse off driveway and then hit brakes, get squeal, move forward to stop light, brake, squeal. Then move issues after that. Probably warmed up by then. Very possible oem pads not on it.

My car does the exact same thing until the brakes are warmed up. I'm not sure what type of pads the previous owner put in my car but I'm sure it's not OEM replacement.

I doubt it's still has OEM pads but it might. Mines does it at like the first 2 stops on cold mornings. it does not do it in the warm months. It's a characteristic of the pads I have on my car which ARE ceramic and many reviewers have noticed. If it bothers you switch to a good quality ceramic pad but make sure to read the reviews.

It could be a number of things. Pads or shims could be chattering. Or dust/rust that makes those pads squeal.
My Tundra truck does it too. The previous owner had a brake job done but I plan to replace the front brakes again but do it right this time.
It seems like a fairly easy job but, as is the case with most any job, it does require some close attention to detail to keep the brakes from making noise.
