The LS is the 4th highest vehicle after the LX/Land Cruiser twins and the...Ford E250. The author will be splitting out rankings for specific models and years over the next few months, so I bet our darling 400 will rise even higher once we're decoupled from the 460.

That is a very interesting read, thanks for taking the time to post it. I'm surprised GM and Chrysler did not dominate the bottom 10 but no surprise that Toyota/Lexus/Honda/Acura dominate the top.

Our LS still drives and feels like a new car at 180k mi with very few minor issues whereas our assortment of domestic (mostly GM) cars were totally on borrowed time by 180k if even still safe to drive. This is my first Lexus and it was immediately apparent during the test drive why people love them so much. I test drove an ES a couple years back and I was not impressed, the SAAB I was driving was better in almost all regards. The LS is a creature in it's own class IMHO.

I have completely lost faith in American autos, with the exception of F series trucks and Panther platform cars of which I have owned several high mileage examples and are consistently durable and last forever. My wife has been wanting a MINI forever and we almost got one, I was surprised that they showed up on the low end. My experience with BMW products has been very good.

If I ever live someplace with paved roads all the way to my door I will buy an LS430 or a Tesla model S.
