did you try taking apart the engine and putting it back together? maybe a piston is missing

And be very specific. Like it starts when I turn the key and will stop when I release it. Or it starts and runs till I put it in gear then dies. Or it kinda starts blows smoke makes noise then dies. Etc. Etc. Etc. And I hope its an LS400 and not a Volks Waggon Beetle.
