Default Air Suspension to OEM Struts

Howdy all it sure has been awhile. I've been out of the game lately as school and life has left me broke enough to quit putting money into the LS for the time being.

Here's the question, if you have air suspension say on a 98-2000 LS. Are these strutmaster guys your only option?

Can you just delete the whole bozo air system and go back to OEM? I sure hope so. I have been searching around and all I Can find are strutmaster conversion kits. Makes me want to steer away from the air suspension package if they make it a pain to go back to regular.

Thanks for the help in advance

Matt

For the price of the StrutMaster setup, you can pick up a set of coilovers from Megan Racing or Godspeed Project. As for factory setups, any strut/spring combo designed for the LS400 will work fine.

You can just remove the air and go to conventional spring/shock suspension. There are several threads on how to do it if you search.

Hey scope thanks for the reply. It seemed too weird because I thought the chassis and everything was about the same. As for the springs, I know when you order struts that you get just that, the struts. So where do you all get the springs? Junkyard or something? As for the megain coilovers, I'm looking for a factory oem type ride. I can't see them catering to the soft stock ride folks. I'm purely looking for oem

Thanks again

That said, if anyone that has installed the coilovers or any other type and have the oem springs still I'd love to take them off of yyour hands for a fair price.

Thanks again guys

You should be able to find some in the junkyard for cheap.

From what I've heard, the Megan EZ Street coilovers ride relatively soft. If you really want an OEM quality ride out of coilovers, then look toward the Tein Comfort Sport series. I think you could just run some KYB Excel GR-2 struts, and some Tanabe DF-210 springs. That's another good combo for OEM ride quality/softness.

if you want stock height, KYB shocks (oem replacement), new OEM or KYB top mounts and isolators, and used springs.

beats strutmasters all day, considering they use off-brand chinese shocks.
