I'm kinda surprised the Takata airbag catastrophe hasn't touched any Lexi (yet). It seems like Takata airbags were/are extensively used by Toyota and Honda, among many others.

The very first model year LS400s had a recall almost right off the bat for the third brake lights, which would overheat with a combination of the sun and the internal bulbs, and the plastic would distort and melt.

They rectified the problem very quickly and actually earned a high amount of praise for how well they handled it back then.

Not familiar with any others....
