Default Possible to put a 98 front on a 95?

Title says it all. I know it HAS been done. But is it as simple as doin it on a SC400? Cause with that all you gotta do is buy the bumper from lexus + the fog lighs and just bolt it on. Is the conversion that simple for a LS400?

Thanks.

does it fit or are modifications like bending, cutting, or welding required to get it to fit?

also, do you have the part numbers for those pieces?
that'd be a HUGE help

thanks man.

Why don't you just crash your car & have your insurance buy the new parts & pay for the work? When it's in the shop, just have them order the 98+ parts instead of the 95 parts.

There was a 1995 on eBay the other day that had a 2000 front end on it. It may be still on auction.

Still on Ebay, just found it. Item # 2405547241
Probably a terrible history with that LS since he mentions something about Pennsylvania and now he's in Brooklyn N.Y.
I'd like to see a carfax on that one but I don't trust the VIN he posted plus carfax doesn't tell all either. I'd like to see that car up on a lift.

Clear title, lol....now that he had all the paperwork redone. Sounds like a shady guy.

Probably was a flood car if it didn't take a blow to the front.

Update, out of curiosity I called the guy at 917-642-9751 and he wasn't even sure on the history of the car and claims he's selling it for his brother because he can't make the payments. Wants like $14k for it. He's not the original owner and THINKS it had one previous owner but he's not sure. His so called brother must have bought it at a salvage insurance auction in Penn is my guess.

I asked him if it was ever in a flood he replied, "no floods here in NY"... lol... but when I pressed him and asked "what about Pennsylvania or another state?" he said "I told you I am selling it for my brother." lol

yeah i saw that car
that's what sparked my interest
he says a shop did it and he dosen't know what kinda stuff had to be done

i'd like to know though...cause it'd be nice, when a paint job rolls around, to just grab the parts, bolt e'm on, and get it painted

Not sure about what the kit includes in detail (lights, etc.), but for an approximate estimation of the conversion rates (rates change all the time, so nothing is exact), I was told that you can take the amount of Yen and cut off 2 zero's and that should be an approximate amount in U.S dollars (more or less).

Example: 5,000 Yen = 50 Dollars (if I'm wrong, someone please correct me. It was something that a former member here on ClubLexus told me).

And in this case, $2,380 would be an approximate of the total. But I would double-check.

Dude....save the money and get the newer model instead. There are lots of newer year LS400 out there for sale. Do your search and be patient. It will come across.
But it all comes back to what you actually need anyway.
Here is my story:

I have done that long time ago with my Nissan '93 240 SX. I got the engine swapped (SR20DET engine with turbo stage 3) w/ all other goodies. Body kit, lightweight competition wheels. Spent money over $20 k, but I sold the car for $6 K. The car had 248,000 miles on it when I sold it to get my LS400.

Regret? Not really I like my LS400 better.

So think about it before you do something to your car.

Good luck Buddy

Dominic
