Unhappy Hit and Run

Lucille is a 2000 LS400 with ~165,000km. Mystic Gold Metallic.
I love her and just bought her 10 months ago.
To protect her I already got a suede dash cover (and to prevent glare), better mats, and a sheepskin seat cover for me (to prevent cracking and further colour loss...to help prevent...).

Parked the car with more than a whole lane of space around it.
Of course, someone hits it, drags their tires along the entire driver side, and damages the whole left side.
NO idea who it was...no note left.
Thanks Obama (hahah had to).

Trying to keep a positive mind...but the metal is exposed now.
I think It'll need a new fender.

Pics to come.

Bloody hell.

obama? aren't you in canada haha? sorry to hear but i would suspect insurance would cover such damages which sound like it will exceed your deductible.

Just got hit and run the other day. Luckily it wasn't the GS. No note left either and I parked a mile away from civilization.

sometimes you have those punks that hit you just because they know you parked far to avoid that in the first place... sorry to hear as well man!

I wonder if this guy in New York took up two parking spaces?

It reminds me of back in the 70's when I pre-paid for parking in a garage in downtown Kanas City. Parking spaces were not assigned and there were just enough spaces for the number of parking passes sold. One day an owner of a Datson Z-car took up two parking spaces and there were no spaces left for me. I don't know how it happened ;-) but the owner of the Datson found a note on his windshield and a bent radio antenna when he returned.

I parked in a space that had extra non-parking room around it just to be safe.
I am wondering if I should buy those cameras people put on their mirror to look out.
Still working to get the surveillance tapes.
Wish me luck.

looks like the shop did a great job on the repair. maybe even a simple PDR on the door, but of course there were cracks in the paint on the fender.

Yeah you have to love the idiots that decide how wide a parking space is to be. A little 8 foot wide space for a 6 foot plus wide car or truck. It makes me sick. People spend 30 to 50 K for a car just to have it messed up parking it someplace.
