Default Brake warning light on, now off, need help

1996 LS400. Hey everyone. So the way I understand that the brake pad wear warning light works, is it shorts out and then the light comes on, meaning you need a new sensor when you replace the brakes. My light came on this morning, but it went off halfway through the day. What does this mean?

I was surprised to see it come on as I thought last time I got a decent look at my pads they were still pretty thick.

I did just drive 12 hours straight, and have driven 16 hours near nonstop the past two days.
My CEL came on for cat inefficiency last night during that trip, but it went off when I let the car cool down so I'm guessing it just got hot from being run for so long.

Oh, and I have a rotting corpse under the car cooking(huge dead deer in the rd and there was a car beside me so I had to just run over it), not sure if this would cause anything. lmfao.

are you sure you saw the pad wear warning light and not the parking brake light?

The parking brake light turns on/flashes when your brake fluid is low.

No I looked it up. It's the brake pad wear sensor light.

That's why I am stumped.

My car did this too you just haven't worn all the way through the wear sensor wire. Once the wire is broken the light will stay on. On another note why didn't you just slow down and change lanes to avoid the carcas?

What year is your car because that indicator looks like the emergency brake light?

Well there was a car to the left of me and off-road to the right of me, and I thought I would clear, so I just went over it. I almost cleared it, but I'm guessing not all of it by the smell from under my car. lol.

And it's a 1996. That picture isn't from my car, but when I looked in my owners manual, that light showed up as brake pad wear sensor light.

The wire gets worn through when the pad is too thin, and the circuit opens (not shorts out) to activate the warning light.
