Default Step By Step For Evaporator Installation

Seems like the evaporator on my 90 LS400 is DOA.Does anybody know where i can get the directions for installing a new one? Chilton's does not go there with this repair. Also the cost of a new one varies from a Lexus OEM for 270.00,258.00 from discount auto and 125.00 from i believe importautoparts.com..any suggestions on that info? Any and all help/suggestions very much appreciated..The Florida weather will be kicking in soon.no time to waste Thanks all!

Default looks like i'm on my own :(

Well i joined Alldata.com so now i have removal/installation instructions.I've also been advised to replace the tube assembly along with the evaporator (along with a couple of o ring kits) Some suggest replacing the receiver/dryer assembly also.Question is how do i know if just the fitting on the evap is bad and not the evap itself? I hope i get more response with this post than my previous post please jump right in if you have anything to offer, the hot Florida weather is right around the corner-no time to waste!

Sometimes you can see the refrigirant oil at the bottom of Evaporator, but while in there already just replace the Evap., Tube and o-ring. I recommend replace the receiver and dryer, because that thing will fill up with moisture and dirt. It's under the right front head light.
The next item that will leak on your A/C is the compressor and one of the line by the compressor. Keep an eye on that too.
