Missing bolts?
Used to do my oil changes and whatever else I could do. Last 3 years have gone to Toyota dealer and an independept garage with good reputation. Today the 95 LS400 was in the driveway and noticed that the plastic cover under the engine was hanging down on passenger side. So, looking under the car it looks like most of the bolts on that side are missing. Wow. How did that happen. When I did my own oil changes, it was hard to get these bolts from the Lexus part counter because their book always showed bolts that were no where close to the ones that came on the car.
Does anyone else ever have this problem? Or am I just lucku ?

They probably left them off OR they overtightened and snapped the bolts off. I bought my car with this issue. The solution the previous owner or tech had was to use a zip tie wrapped around the strut bar mount. This will work temporarily for you also, but I would check under the car to see if bolts are simply missing or if the bolts actually got snapped off. If they were snapped (like in my case) they will need to be drilled out and re-threaded with a tap. I actually just got around to doing that exact same thing this past weekend. I drilled and taped the snapped off bolts and bought new ones from the hardware store along with large fender washers to hold up the splash shield since a lot of the plastic was brittle and falling apart in the bolt hole area. I I really need a new undercover/splash shield but that is one very expensiveness of plastic if you buy it new!)
I would personally call the shop out on this and ask for them to fix it. Hopefully it is a reputable shop. You should fix this before the plastic gets caught on something and rips to shreds.

yeah most shops take it off then forget to put it back on. also some shops even cut the plastic so you don't need to remove the splash shield to get to the oil filter. i've seen dealerships do this as well!
btw, all bolts are readily available over the counter which all lexus/toyotas use.

funny i bought some from sewell not to long ago! buy online plus you get a discount if you sign up as a club lexus member!
be aware some are screws (90159-60477), and quantity is in parenthesis (6).
90119-06564 have a big fender washer on it that holds the splash shield from the middle. there is only (2) of those bolts.
