Reassembly is the reverse. Once you got everything sort of back together just use a few loose screws to hold the motor in place and start running your wires. There are two sets; one for the blinker and the other for the puddle light. This part really sucked - with very limited room for your fingers to work you have to thread the wires through the spring (not pictured), into the mounting bracket, and then out through the rubber gasket.

Once you got the wires run, push the grimy gasket back together, snug up the motor and (bottom) bracket screws, and reattach the mirror glass. Reattach the mirror to the car door and connect the long wires to your leads and get ready for more fun. Pull the wire harness plug on the bottom of the door and run your wiring through here then out the "rear" plug on the outer side of the door and into the fender well.

If you haven't guessed it yet the next step is to put the side of the car you are working on on a jack stand, remove the wheel and remove the inner fender shroud! This will allow you to easily access the front side marker light and turn signal which you gotta tap into to connect the lights. Plus you will be able to run your wiring clean and tucked away.

NOTE: You may choose to skip this step if you are using an alternate wiring method, esp. the puddle lights.

I made sure to check all my connections and to test all functions (parking light, turn signal, hazards, keyless entry flashing lights) before I put the door panel, fender shroud, wheel etc. back on. All good.

Well, this took up nearly two days but I am pleased with the finished product. Just gotta get over how big the mirrors look now.

Sorry to hear that, my experience with "primepart" was just fine though they did try hard to upsell me on the painted versions. I just did it myself. Good luck.

Well they already come with LED puddle lights on the bottom of the mirror. I connected them to the parking lights so they are always on, though on a factory install I suppose they would be on the interior light circuit since the intent is to provide temporary illumination as you open the door, right?

Man I wish they made these for 95-97s, is there that much of a difference between the two?

Hmmm, not sure on that one. Before I started this thread I researched the forums and there are a few others who have done this - I just didn't pay attention to the year of those cars. I checked the ebay listing again and it shows compatability with 95-00. I would verify with the seller to be sure.

Correct. I'm a bit vague on the CVC for permissible side lighting so best to check it before the LEO's start a discussion with you. Looks good.

i would think these would work on a 95-97 car too. and yes the puddles might cause a problem with law enforcement if they are too bright but with your silver paint i don't think they will be obvious. great great job!

All the listings I saw some would say 95-00 and others would say 98-00, and some even both in the same ad! If you go to LexLS and look at the evolution of the LS the 98 model year states:

- Outer rearview mirror was changed to reduce wind noise.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to find a 98+ and compare
