Cats are big $$. Before starting on a parts replacement, get the codes to verify what parts need to be replaced first. Will save you $$ in the long run. Cat's don't die usually unless they have seen a constant span of unburnt fuel. This is an EFI issue for the rich fuel ratio, get that fixed then see if the cats are still working.

The '94 code reader is called a paper clip. '95 was the first year with OBD2.
