Curious if this wood interior was an option from Toyota or some aftermarket stuff?

A Lexus dealer in Palm Beach, Florida offered a Palm Beach Edition of the LS400, LS430, ES300 and maybe other Lexus models with vinyl roofs.

I figured that Florida is the only state where a dealer could get away with that without a lynch mob forming outside!

that wood trim is aftermarket but was probably offered at certain dealerships. i removed mine as it started to discolor and crack. it was a big pain to remove but luckily mine was isolated to only the headunit, HVAC controls, and center vents.

I do not "hate" it but it is off putting, mainly because it looks so different than what I am used to in an LS.

it's off putting bc it isn't factory. looks too busy for me. wood should be accents, not the whole dash.

this and gold emblems were the most popular aftermarket parts back when sold new! dealerships made a killing!

The weird thing is I don't even like my gold emblems. Aside from the fact that the rear emblems are all faded, and my big L is essentially chrome now. I think the white pearl car with gray two tone would look better with chrome emblems. And I hate the gold pinstripe too.

Has anyone here got any tips on how to remove the pinstripe if it's at all possible? I've tried scraping it with my finger nail and it just breaks my nails so it's on there pretty good.

There are plenty tutorials on the web on how to remove pinstripes.

Any U.S. models ever sold with a single exterior paint color vice the two-tone look?

Yeah, the AmEx Platinum editions had a monotone paint option. The all-silver ones look very nice.

Some of the 2000 Platinum series cars did, in specific colors.
