ok, today my steering wheel motor went out i think....it goes forward and back but not up or down....sounds like a costly issue...any input???

ok update! after 2 days of driving with the wheel all the way up and occasionally trying to bring it down (it would make a buzzing sound but not move)......it finally went down!! so i turned the switch off and am going to leave it there at my driving position. could it be that the plastic gear is worn out?
