Unhappy Steering wheel - Vibration

Hey guys i have a 95 LS400 i just changed the strut rod bushings, aligned and put the summer wheels on (i re balanced the wheels ) running on B2 design 15mm spacers because ISF wheels dont clear the calipers .

The real problem is when i drive my steering wheel is swinging from side to side and its worse the faster i go. Im lost maybe the spacers are the problem ?

i think its gonna the spacers because i balanced the wheels on a really good HUNTER machine with roadforce ......the center bore of the wheels is the same on all lexuses right ?

60.1mm centrebore. if you're running hubcentric spacers as you should be then it's likely the wheels.

no, OEM toy/lex wheels have to use the OEM mag-style lugs to seat properly.

If you're so convinced it's not the wheels/tires then take the spacers off and test. I"m betting on needing a rebalance.

If you're using OEM Toyota/Lexus wheels, they (for the most part) require the use of OEM style lugnuts. OEM wheels are not designed for conical style lugs nuts as they have a flat lugnut seat. I would even say that running conical type lugnuts is DANGEROUS with OEM wheels.

You'd have to putt the spacers on a lathe and check the runout to be sure. Even a tiny runout would cause a massive vibration at speed that would increase with the speed of the car.

Tire balance problems usually really manifest themselves at specific speeds and go away above and below.

Bent wheels is an all the time thing, but if they were balanced on a road force machine it could be possible that a big bend could be over compensated for.

Try swapping from wheels to the back and go for a drive. If you suddenly feel the vibration through the seat of your pants then it's likely a bent wheel or out of balance wheel.
If the problem stays, it's either the spacer or the hub/brake/knuckle.
To check if it's the spacer, you could mark it to the wheel for reference, take both off, install the spacer on the wheel and rebalance them. If the wheel takes any additional weight and then drives better, it's your spacers. A good spacer should have no impact on the balance of the wheels.
