Here is the video with the fluid drained:
Remember, I have NO experiance with differentials, so I litteraly have no clue if this is normal gear clatter. My guess is something is shot due ti the fact that this is the SAME noise I was experiencing to begin with.
Video with fluid still in the Diff:

Well, I'll be hitting up the junk yard and keeping this one as a spare. I went to a trans shop and the guy said it was not normal. He said he could rebuild it for around 350$. I passed the offer. If I am able to keep this car long enough, I ill end up rebuilding the differential myself with an LSD swap from a Surpra MKIV NA small diff or possibly a TRD unit if I can figure out comparability!
In the mean time, I will install a junkyard unit.

My 99LS started making slight noise in rear couple years ago, I was thinking thta it was a wheel bearing going out. Today I decided to look into it closer, raised the car, rear wheels off, rotors off and tried spinning the hubs and listen, The noise is very similar to OP's video where diff is out of the car and fluid still in it.
So, what are my options?
Junk yard?
Get it rebuilt?

I did replace gear oil a month ago, it had just under 100K miles on it, it was a little dirty, not horrible.
when they rebuild differentials, do they just change the bearings and seals? Or it is more involved?
I see carriers on Ebay under 100K miles for $400-500 shipped. Sounds right?

Working on my 99LS. Removed knucles, right wheel bearing is making noise, left one just starting...will replace them both.
As for differential, very slight sound when I turn the sides, some gear lash is acceptable, I was told.
How much sound is normal?
I got a differential from junk yard, it sounds same as mine, slight "tr-rrr" sound.

In the videos. I wouldn't be too worried about that noise. It all depends on if the those smaller gears have too much play on the shafts. One thing that wears them out is like spinning one wheel doing burn outs and drifting etc. If it was used like that then you may have a problem.
