Default 92 ls400 part identification please




WHAT IS THIS CALLED ?I KNOW SOME TYPE OF PLUG GOES THERE .IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE WAY TO PLUG IT ?

Is that the camshaft housing plug? You need to take valve cover off to get to them, and then there are two screws holding them in place.
Usually those do not leak, but area around it can because that's where the seal has some serious bending in it, which is why FIPG should be applied there. I mean when you see how tightly pressed they are in there, it becomes clear why they don't leak (not saying it is impossible, just extremely unlikely). I also applied some FIPG just on the edges of those plugs because there is a barely noticeable groove there, so I put it in there as "just in case"... maybe that's where it's leaking, if it is leaking?
