Exclamation 98 ls400 issues Help needed: bat, VSC & ABS lights

First the battery light is on, second the VSC off and ABS light is lit on the dash after the car has run a little.I love this car but it's giving me problems. And just would like to see my options here. Also when I brake the car doesn't stop fully I have to apply the brakes really hard from 60 mph and it rolls when you press really hard this is one of my major concerns.I thought these brakes were suppose to be good OEM bbk like? Pads were changed recently I'll have more info Thursday

The first thing to do is to check and clean the battery cable connections.

go to Autozone or Advance Auto Parts or O'Reilly and have the car scanned for those ABS codes and other codes.

or you can order a good scanner online for $18 to your door and scan it yourself.

usually the battery light being on means your alternator is dying. what is your battery voltage when off, and when the motor is running?

Step by step and of course this all relates to how much $ you are willing to throw into it to get it back into top running condition. Check the alternator to make sure it is charging properly.

you have one of the most reliable cars ever made - unless a previous owner has abused it, it will be something simple, such as an alternator that has been killed by leaking power steering fluid, which is my bet!

you can get a rebuilt alternator at rockauto.com for not much over $100

it's a 15 year old car, you can do a lot of maintenance on this yourself for what even a single car payment would cost on a new car!
