How to change battery wires
Can anyone help me on replacing the battery wires both positive and negative on a 93 ls400?
The positive have 2 wires, 1 seems to be a 4 gauge(?) and the other is maybe an 8 gauge(?).
The negative is maybe an 8 gauge(?)
I am looking into changing both positive and negative wires with maybe a bigger gauge wires. I need help. What would be the level of difficulty on doing this? Can anyone guide me or give me a step by step procedure on doing this?
I could trace the wires but i dont want any surprises... IE. the wire is tangled all around in the engine and it is pointless to do/must remove a bunch of parts in order to accomplish this/would cost $1000+ to replace

positive cable goes to the main (engine room) fusebox, negative cable goes to frame below fusebox
electronics and wiring are difficult for many folks more due to understanding than anything else

Would it be impolite to ask why you want to replace the wiring? Something not working correctly? Squirrels chewed the wiring?
Sometimes a little background helps to provide better, more targeted advice.

I'm betting he is planning on installing a high powered amp/sub in his new sound system or else super high wattage headlights - not only do you need to beef up cabling, but a larger alternator is not optional in these applications, the stock LS400 alternator, while extremely reliable, is small output, and barely has enough amperage for the car as stock.
