Default should I flush my tranny?

I don't know weather or not should I flush my tranny completely or simply have the fluid replaced without flushing? Here is the reason, it's a 1991 LS400 with 73000 miles and the previous owner did do tranny service in year 2000 when the car had 60000 miles. So, it was flushed 3 years ago, but the car has had only about 12000 miles on it since. Will I be paying for nothing if I do get it flushed? If any of you know, please tell me how much the price difference is (with or without flush). Thanks.

Since the transmission has a drain plug, I would just purchase a gallon can of the special Toyota OEM transmission fluid from any Toyota dealer. The manul says it takes 2 quarts, but I have found it takes about 2.5 qts or so. So you cannot get 2 changes out of one gallon jug. The gallon will cost you about 30.00, which is cheap compared to tranny repairs. I have been changing my tranny fluid each oil change for the last 3 changes to get all the old fluid out. Each time I change it, the fluid is still brown, and not red like the new fluid. I will continue to change tranny fluid at each oil change until I get a good red color to it. I know that some of you might disagree with me, but I figure a few cans of tranny fluid is still way cheaper than repairs! My LS400 has 135,000 miles and I had no idea what service had or had not been done. Just make sure you stick with the Toyota special fluid, and not some other type. The Toyota fluid is synthetic, and is very unique.
